about

Following the release of his album ‘Our Time’, which saw Natty Reeves team up with trumpeter Jackson Mathod for tracks ‘United Untied’ & ‘Lilac’, the duo have since got back together for a stunning live rendition of their track ‘United Untied’.

During the recording of ‘United Untied’, the pair quickly formed a bond and found themselves writing some breath-taking music, which effortlessly developed into a 3-track live album - ‘Live at 43’ (due out early 2022). The recordings were also captured visually at the same time, by Archie Henderson, showcasing the rawness and musicianship you hear from both musicians on the record itself.

‘Live at 43’ illustrates Natty’s ability to cohesively link his usually more up-produced and hip-hop-drum laden tracks into a live and stripped back setting, moving himself further into the UK jazz scene, displaying his intricate guitar-play throughout, whilst showcasing an undeniable relationship with Jackson Mathod. Across the project, we also hear Jackson grow further into each track, with his bright arrangements and dazzling tones on the trumpet, as the two harmoniously grow from start to end.

Natty Reeves is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer-songwriter currently residing in Brighton, UK. Taking inspiration from the likes of Chet Baker, Blake Mills and Antonio Carlos Jobim, Natty produces music riddled with charm and honesty that blurs the lines between Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop.

Jackson Mathod is a multi-instrumentalist and singer. Drawing on influences from the likes of Miles Davis, Submotion Orchestra and Christian Scott to name a few. Jackson studied Jazz at Guildhall School of Music and Drama back in 2009. However, never feeling fully embedded in the Jazz world, he quickly went onto the session musician circuit, playing for high profile artists such as Stormzy and Jordan Rakei. Fast forward to 2019, Jackson was asked to be a featured artist on 'Make you Feel' by South London Duo Fika, where he laid his vibrant trumpet sound on the R&B hit. "This is a thing I really enjoy in music. Improvising in different styles. Embracing the diversity of my instrument."

Between them, their music has been supported by the likes of BBC6 Music, Jazz FM, BBC Introducing, Worldwide FM, Soho Radio, NPR & more.
